FIR order suspended against actress Momina Iqbal's sister in MPA Saqib Chadhar dispute
The Lahore High Court (LHC) has suspended an order directing the registration of an FIR against advocate Rimsha Iqbal, the sister of actress Momina Iqbal, in connection with an ongoing dispute involving Punjab MPA Saqib Chadhar, 24NewsHD TV reported on Monday.
The petition was heard by Justice Aehbar Gul, who stayed the June 30 order issued by the Justice of Peace that had directed police to register a case against Rimsha Iqbal on the application of MPA Saqib Chadhar.
Advocate Rimsha Iqbal challenged the Justice of Peace's decision before the LHC through her legal counsel, arguing against the order for registration of an FIR.
During the proceedings, the court suspended the order, including the direction issued under Section 154 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), until the next hearing.
The court also halted the implementation of the instructions requiring the SHO to proceed with the registration.
The LHC issued notices to the respondents and fixed September 14, 2026, for the next hearing.
