Punjab govt to enhance capacity of education sector

The Punjab government on Monday decided to enhance the capacity of the special education sector, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to details, the Punjab government will establish an IT Wing, a strategic planning and M&E unit in the special education department.

The Punjab government also approved the new pay package for the new posts vacant in the special education department.

41 news posts are created for the facilitation of special children. After approval from the finance department, the process of new posts will be completed.

13 news posts are created for the IT Wing 8 for the strategic planning wing. 

The department's request to create 20 posts for the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit was accepted. Approval has been granted for a lump-sum pay package for new positions.

New positions have been created to enhance administrative and technical capacity within special education institutions.

Preparations are underway to further strengthen 304 special education institutions across Punjab.

Key decisions have been made to provide better facilities to approximately 41,000 children with special needs across the province.

Approval has been granted to relax the ban on recruitment within the Special Education Department.

The establishment of new units will improve planning, monitoring, and technology integration.
