ECP takes up complaints about manipulation in Senate election

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has taken notice of granting funds to women lawmakers by Prime Minister Imran Khan before the Senate vote.
The commission will start hearings on fund release in defiance of election SOPs and alleged manipulations by Ali Gilani on March 11.
The ECP acted upon the complaints by PPP leaders Nayyar Bukhari, Farukh Habib and Kanwal.
The commission is set to dig into allegations of manipulation and other irregularities in the previous Senate election in KP on March 9. The ECP acted upon the complaints of PML-N.
Reportedly, the premier raised questions over the performance of the Election Commission of Commission (ECP) for not taking action against individuals “buying” votes for Senate polls.
He accused ECP of protecting those who made money by unfair means. The secret ballot system in Senate polls has damaged the democracy,” the prime minister concluded.ad said.
