Red Chilli prices surge in Multan 

 The price of red chilli has surged by Rs2,000 per maund in grain market during Ramazan.

At wholesale level, red chilli prices have jumped from Rs 22,000 per maund to Rs 24,000 per maund, causing concern among traders and consumers alike. "We were expecting drop in price but the rates have increased," said Raja Mudassir, president of Main Gate Traders. 

He said the price hike is driven by supply and demand fluctuations. However, he assured that the increase is temporary and prices are expected to stabilize at the end of Ramazan.
