By-election for Senate seat in Sindh today

Sindh Election Commissioner Ijaz Anwar Chohan said on Monday that all arrangements for the by-election on a Senate seat have been finalised. 

Polling will continue from 9am to 4pm at the Sindh Assembly on Tuesday (May 6). 

Waqar Mehdi of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Nighat Mirza of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) are contesting the by-election for this Senate seat from Sindh that fell vacant due to the death of Senator Taj Haider.

On Monday, Chohan visited the Sindh Assembly and checked the arrangements for the by-election. He expressed satisfaction with the polling arrangements and said the Senate by-election will be transparent and peaceful.
