Nepra notifies 64-paisa increase in power tariff

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on Wednesday notified 64 paisas per unit increase in the electricity rates to generate about Rs4.40 billion additional revenue from consumers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The increase was allowed on account of monthly fuel cost adjustment (FCA) for electricity consumed in February.
The tariff increase will be applicable to all the consumers except lifeline consumers and K-Electric consumers.
The decision will be applicable to the bills for the month of April. The authority held a public hearing on March 30, 2021 and took the decision.
