Four KP universities receive funding at last

Four universities of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa facing severe financial challenges have now received funding of over Rs291 million, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
These universities are Peshawar University, Islamia College Peshawar, Abdul Wali Khan University in Mardan, University of Engineering and Technology (UET).
All these universities were not able to pay their teachers and staff for the last several months.
KP Higher Education Department released Rs128 million for Mardan university, Rs140 million for agriculture University Peshawar, Rs 20 million for UET Mardan, and Rs103 for Islamia College Peshawar.
KP Higher Education Minister Kamran Bangash denied the reports that KP universities were facing financial challenges.
He said grants have been released to these universities but some associations want to fame the KP HED department.
