Above-average rainfall forecast for Kashmir, GB, Punjab in August

In a weather alert issued for August on Thursday, the Met Office said that while some parts of the country would receive above-average monsoon rainfall, there would be extreme heat in others during the month, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.  

It said that above-average rainfall was expected in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and north-east Punjab.   

Similarly, it said that different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) were likely to receive more rains than usual during the ongoing month. “The weather in Sindh will mostly remain dry; however, more rains are likely in the southern areas of the province,” the Met Office said, adding, “Likewise, above-average rainfall has been predicted for some parts of Balochistan.”  

However, it cautioned that the weather in northern and western mountainous regions would remain extremely hot. “Above-average temperatures are expected in KP, Kashmir and GB during the month.”
