Love triumphs as court allows girl to go with her husband
Supreme Court of Pakistan has allowed a girl who got married of her own choice to go with husband ordering Karachi police to provide protection to her and her family, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi pronounced the verdict while hearing the religion change and marriage of choice case at Karachi Registry on Thursday.
Love-marriage girl Beenish appeared in the court on Supreme Court’s order.
The CJP asked the girl have you married the person of your choice?
Beenish replied the court that she has married the person of her choice and there was no pressure on her.
Recording statement of the girl, the court inquired the girl how old were you when you got married?
She replied “I was 28 years old at the time of marriage.”
Your father says that you were forcibly converted under pressure, Chief Justice inquired. “I have converted to Islam of my own free will and I am happy with my husband,” Beenish replied.
Beenish submitted that the father keeps filing cases and issuing threats to her.
Nothing will happen now and no one will threaten you, the CJP said.
