Turkey weighs setting up stealth drone assembling factory in Pakistan

In recognition of Pakistan Army’s professional capabilities, Turkiye is contemplating setting up a war drone assembling factory in Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

The transfer of latest drone technology to Pakistan is a major step towards making the country the center of latest defence production.

According to Bloomberg, Turkiye, whose defence exports during 11 months of the ongoing year, have surged to $7.5 billion after a jump by 30 per cent, will export to Pakistan spare parts of these stealth drones for their assembling.

These drones have the capacity to fly at the altitude of 30,000 feet for more than 24 hours besides carrying a load of 250 kilograms.

The international publication says the country also wants Pakistan to become a partner in the production of fifth generation fighter jets. 

Under an agreement, Turkiye is also manufacturing for the Pakistan Navy latest naval warships.

In order to further promote cooperation between the two countries, Tukiye’s aerospace industries has already set up a office in Pakistan in 2019.

In 2022, a Turkish company signed agreements with Pakistan’s National Engineering and Scientific Commission for the production of spare parts of latest Anka drones.

Turkiye has also signed an agreement worth $1.5 billion with Pakistan under which it will provide 30 helicopters to the latter.

The country has also upgraded dozens of F-16 fighter jets for Pakistan.
