Dog bite incidents in Lahore have surged to a frightening level as 42 people were attacked by the dogs in last 24 hours.

Children formed the majority of the victims, who were attacked and injured by dogs in different parts of the city.
More than 2,000 people have been attacked and injured by stray dogs in less than 40 days, since the start of the year.

The district administration claims it is already running a campaign against the stray dogs but the situation seems far from getting better.

The dog bites crisis first emerged in Sindh, where dogs attacked and injured hundreds of people.

Unfortunately, the health authorities in the province did not have sufficient stock of rabies vaccination.

The situation has been even worse for the people of interior Sindh where health facilities are generally lacking.

24 Digital reported 10 fresh cases of dog bites in only one area of Kandhkot town of Sindh few days ago.  Many of these new victims in Tangwani area were children.

The citizens protested against the rising dog bite incidents and flayed the officials for turning a blind eye to packs of stray dogs roaming streets of the city.
