A century-old temple, situated in Babu Mohallah, Zhob, was handed over to Hindu community at a simple but impressive ceremony in Zhob.
Zhob Deputy Commissioner Talha Saleem along with Khateeb Jamia Mosque Allah Dad Kakar handed over keys of the building to head of local Hindu community. A large number of local notables, majority of them Hindus, participated in the ceremony.
The temple remained closed since independence of Pakistan and later a primary school was established at the building some 30 years ago. The district administration will shift the school to some other place.
Speaking on the occasion, Maulana Allah Dad Kakar said that people of Zhob respect all the religions and its worship places.
The handing over of Hindu temple reflects the elements of harmony and tolerance of Pakistani society.
The Hindu community appreciated the authorities and religious scholars for the noble gesture, saying this step refuted propaganda against Pakistan.
