Kite-flying incidents leave five injured in Lahore

At least five people were injured in separate kite-flying and kite-chasing incidents across Lahore during the celebrations linked to the Basant season on Saturday, 24NewsHD TV reported. 

In Sundar’s Islam Nagar area, a man chasing a kite was struck by a vehicle, leaving him critically injured.

Police said 26-year-old Qasim Ali suffered fractures to both legs and was shifted to Jinnah Hospital for medical treatment.

In another incident in Sabzazar’s M Block, a 13-year-old boy, Ali Abdullah, fell from the second floor of his house while flying a kite.

He was taken to Jinnah Hospital, where his condition was reported to be stable.

In Wapda Town’s Sattokatla area, a six-year-old child, Rehan, was injured after falling down stairs during kite-flying.

He was also shifted to Jinnah Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, in Green Town’s Bagrian locality, a 25-year-old man, Abdul Basit, was injured after falling from the roof of his house while flying a kite, police said.

Another incident was reported from Mansura Bazaar in Hanjarwal, where 30-year-old Sami Saeed fell from a rooftop during kite-flying and sustained injuries.

He was shifted to Jinnah Hospital, and his condition was described as satisfactory.
