Lahore High Court’s (LHC) Justice Aalia Neelum on Thursday granted protective bail to Zaheer Ahmed, husband of Dua Zehra, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Zaheer approached the LHC through his lawyer to get bail fearing arrest by the police after a medical report of Dua Zehra was submitted in a court in Karachi that her age was between 15 and 16 years.

Dua Zehra was reported missing by her parents in mid-April and was later found to have married Zaheer Ahmed in Lahore, a claim denied by his parents who are approaching one forum after another to prove their claim that Dua Zehra is a minor girl.

On Wednesday last, the judicial magistrate (East) directed authorities to present the phone call records of the period April 15 to 19 of Zaheer Ahmed, the boy who allegedly kidnapped and married teenager Dua Zehra, as per the claims of Dua’s father Mehdi Kazmi.

Meanwhile, the Sindh High Court (SHC) issued notices to the Sindh Health Department, Home Department, Sindh inspector general of police, Zaheer Ahmed, and others seeking their replies by July 21 over Kazmi's new plea seeking the recovery of the teenager.
