Dacoit killed, two arrested in Arifwala police encounter

A wanted dacoit was shot dead and two of his colleagues were arrested in an injured condition during a police encounter in Arifwala, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

The In-charge of the Crime Control Department (CCD) Malik Tariq said that some unknown dacoits were on their way on a loader rickshaw after snatching animals at gunpoint when they came face-to-face with the CCD team.

The dead dacoit Ilyas alias Ilyasi was killed when his colleagues opened fire on the police party. He said that Ilyas alias Ilyasi was involved in more than 70 criminal cases.

The injured dacoits Allah Ditta, resident of Chak No. 58/12 L was involved in 30, and Jaffar, resident of Chak 161 EB, was involved in more than 22 criminal cases.

Soon after the incident, the CCD team shifted the dead and injured persons to the local hospital.
