Some terrorists attacked the Machni Cross check post in Peshawar with rockets but police foiled their attack and made them retreat, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

Reportedly, the Machni check post was attacked by terrorists. The miscreants made use of heavy weapons during the attack and opened indiscriminate fire on the law personnel.

However, the police retaliated and an exchange of fire took place between them and the terrorists for some time. The prompt action by the police forced the terrorists to repulse.

As soon as the attack was reported, more police contingents rushed to the spot.

No loss of life or damage on the police side has been reported so far.

After the retreat of the attackers, police started a large-scale combing operation in the area.
