Noor Bukhari urges fans and followers to refrain from showing off sacrificial animals
Former actress Noor Bukhari has urged her fans and followers to follow in the footsteps of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and refrain from showing off their sacrificial animals ahead of Eidul Azha.
Sharing a heartfelt message on social media, she reminded people that flaunting Qurbani animals online has no connection with the religious acceptance of the sacrifice. Instead, she emphasised that the act of Qurbani is deeply rooted in sincerity and intention.
“Posting pictures of your sacrificial animals is not part of the Sunnah. Qurbani is between you and Allah. It’s the intention that counts, not the social media likes,” she wrote.
Her message quickly gained traction, sparking discussions among users who echoed her call for humility and spiritual reflection, rather than turning Eid into a competition.
Noor Bukhari, who stepped away from the entertainment industry in 2017 to lead a more religious life, often shares Islamic reminders and motivational content with her followers. She adopted the hijab and has since remained largely out of the public eye, except for occasional appearances on social media.
Previously, Bukhari began her career as a child actress in the early 1990s, appearing in films such as Pyar Karan Toh Nai Darna and Jannat. She transitioned into lead roles and gained prominence with movies like Mujhe Chand Chahiye (2000) and Ghar Kab Aao Gay (2000), eventually appearing in more than 60 films in Urdu and Punjabi cinema.
In 2016, she made her directorial debut with Ishq Positive, in which she also played the lead role. She also hosted various television shows and morning programs throughout her career.
