Pakistan Navy seizes crystal ice drug worth Rs4 billion in Arabian Sea

Captures 280kg crystal ice during regional maritime security operation

The Pakistan Navy has foiled a major drug smuggling attempt and confiscated 280kg crystal ice worth more than Rs4 billion during a regional maritime security operation in the Arabian Sea, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Tuesday.

According to the spokesman for the Pakistan Navy, a ship of the PN seized 280 kilograms of crystal ice during the regional maritime security operation. The value of the confiscated drugs in the international market is more than Rs4 billion. 

The seized drugs were handed over to the law enforcement agencies for further action. 

The successful operation against drug smuggling is the result of effective surveillance at sea by the Pakistan Navy.

ANF recovers drugs in several operations

Meanwhile, in an action on the Islamabad Motorway, the Anti-Narcotics Force recovered 18 kilograms of charas from a vehicle. They arrested a man in this connection who is resident of Khyber.

The ANF also foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs from Peshawar to Punjab. They recovered 12 kg of charas hidden in the trunk of a car. Two accused, residents of Mardan, were arrested. 

In another operation on Peshawar GT Road, the ANF recovered 200 intoxicating drugs and 1 kg of hashish from the possession of a man, resident of Khyber area.

In a joint operation of ANF and Rangers on Karachi Super Highway, 12 kg of charas was recovered from two accused, residents of Karachi. 

The ANF recovered ice (crystal methamphetamine) packed and dried in bed sheets from a carton parcel at Lahore Band Road bus stop and arrested an accused, resident of Sheikhupura. The accused has been in the business of booking parcels and smuggling drugs to foreign countries for quite some time. 

In another operation in Gwadar Nagoor, the ANF unearthed 90 kg of charas packed in plastic bags and containers which were buried in the land. 

The ANF recovered 3 kg of opium, 1.2 kg of charas, 1 kg of ice and 1 kg of suspicious material from a car while operating near Quetta Saryab Road. 

In another operation, the ANF recovered 30 kg charas from a ditch dug in the mountain range in Dalbandin. 

Cases were registered against the arrested accused under the Anti-Narcotics Act.
