Chamkani police arrested members of an Excise team near Northern Bypass in Nowshehra for unspecified reasons on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The incident sparked outrage among Excise squad, who immediately ceased operations and arrived at Chamkani police station after the cops had detained the Excise police stationmaster and three other staffers.

Furthermore, all the Excise squads, including EIB, from Peshawar, Mardan and Nowshera stopped checking in protest and headed towards the Chamkani police station. 

The arrest of the excise personnel infuriated the officials of the entire department of excise squads, and they locked the hons with the Chamkani police officials meanwhile police stopped media from coverage. 

Excise officials also gave a circular against the police.
