PML-N meeting mulls over measures to cope with challenges

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a meeting of the senior leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) at the Prime Minister House, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.
The meeting mooted the ongoing situation and measures to cope with the challenges confronting the government and the country.
The participants agreed that the rioters should face the music and the law will take its course and the invasion of the federal capital should never be allowed and to thwart conspiracy with the force of law, the meeting entrusted the authority of decisions to the party president and the prime minister.
They stressed the investigation process should be accelerated, the involved elements should be brought to the book at the earliest.
The participants praised the efforts and spirit of the government and institutions, especially the Pakistan Army, under the leadership of the Prime Minister, for the flood relief op.
They expressed the determination that the efforts should be continued with full attention and passion till the rehabilitation of the flood victims.
They paid tribute to the efforts of the Prime Minister and his team to improve the value of the rupee against the dollar and the stock exchange in the country and save the country from default.
They expressed confidence that the arrival of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar will create new possibilities to revive Pakistan's economy, reduce debt pressure and provide relief to the common man.
The meeting also welcomed the relief to the people in the prices of petroleum products and said that efforts should be intensified to provide maximum relief to the people in the most difficult economic conditions.
The PML-N lauded the prime minister for representing Pakistan at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization moot and the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly and praised the premier for advocating Kashmir cause and raising the voice against India and Islamophobia at the world forum.
They expressed gratitude to the prime minister for showing the real picture of flood devastation to the world and the climate change hazards
The meeting also thanked United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres for his visit to Pakistan and his global appeal to help the flood victims, and his strong advocacy and declared him a friend of Pakistan.
