38 people injured in dog attack in Gujrat district

At least 38 people were bitten by a rabid dog in a terrifying incident near Chandi Chowk in Jalalpur Jattan, Gujrat, creating panic among residents and asking the authorities to react promptly, 24NewsHD TV reported on Tuesday. 

According to Rescue 1122 officials, the dog attacked multiple citizens in quick succession, leaving several people injured.

Medical staff at the nearby health facility confirmed that around 38 individuals, aged between 16 and 50 years, suffered dog bites of varying severity.

Doctors reported that two of the victims were in serious condition and were immediately shifted to the DHQ Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Hospital in Gujrat for advanced treatment.

The remaining victims sustained minor injuries and are being administered anti-rabies vaccinations at the Civil Hospital, Jalalpur Jattan. Medical teams have assured that all vaccinated individuals will be kept under daily observation to monitor any symptoms or complications related to rabies infection.

Health officials stated that the vaccination process began promptly after the incident, with medical teams ensuring the availability of anti-rabies doses for all affected individuals.

 Meanwhile, the Gujrat district administration has launched a coordinated operation to locate and capture the rabid dog responsible for the attacks.
