PPP urges Punjab govt to focus on flood-hit areas, support victims

PPP leader Senator Palwasha Khan has said that country was hit hard by floods and other calamities but Punjab government was playing provincialism card, adding that it was the basic right of the masses to criticize the government over their wrong policies, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Senator Palwasha Khan was addressing a press conference along other PPP leaders Senator Waqar Mehdi, Senator Shahadat Awan, Senator Masroor Ahmed and others in Islamabad on Tuesday. Senator Palwasha said PPP was symbol of federation and has obtained mandate in two provinces. She said Punjab was not a land of any of single political party.
Senator Palwasha said PPP supported PML-N in difficult times and President Zardari went to Jati Umra during 2014 when PMl-N was in trouble. She claimed PPP was not ally of PML-N.
She claimed Punjab government was not happy with Shehbaz led federal government. Senator Palwasha said there was dire need to support flood hit people in Punjab.
PPP Senator Waqas Mehdi said that Punjab government had made no preparations for floods as Punjab irrigation minister remained missing during the floods. He said Punjab failed to control 30 lakh cusec water while PPP controlled six and half lakh cusec water in a best way.
He claimed Punjab government was getting confused how to manage flood victims.
Senator Waqas Mehdi said that PPP was a symbol of federalism, it has not raised slogans of provincialism and division. He said Pakistan PPP was not a politics of gossip. Senator Waqas Mehdi said that PML-N asked to show 17 projects, we can see 1700 projects.
He said Pakistan Peoples Party condemns Punjab's divisive politics as PPP fought a war of linguistics in Karachi . Senator Waqas Mehdi said that Pakistan was their country. Bilawal Bhutto visited 47 countries in a year. He said Bilawal Bhutto labelled Modi as the butcher of Gujarat.
PPP Senator Shahdat Awan said that the economic situation the country was very dark therefore it was not appropriate time that political parties fight against each other.
He said the local government system has ended in Punjab as government was paying attention to anyone except Lahore in Punjab. He said PML-N's internal battle should not harm democracy and PPP wanted to go with the PML-N.
