Jennifer Lopez remains devoted stepmom to Ben Affleck’s son after split

Jennifer Lopez proved that her bond with Ben Affleck’s children remains strong despite their divorce earlier this year.

The singer and actress was spotted over the weekend enjoying a shopping spree in Beverly Hills with Affleck’s 13-year-old son, Samuel.

The 56-year-old star, who recently offered fans a glimpse inside her $18 million mansion, spent Saturday afternoon at Balenciaga with Samuel.

The teen left the high-end store carrying a large shopping bag as the pair made their way to an awaiting vehicle.

Lopez was married to Affleck from 2022 until their split was finalised in January 2025. During their marriage, she became stepmother to Samuel as well as his sisters, Violet, 19, and Fin, 16, whom Affleck shares with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner.

Despite their separation, Lopez appears committed to maintaining her role in their lives.

For the outing, the On the Floor hitmaker showcased her signature glam style, wearing a white long-sleeved cropped top with low-rise black trousers that highlighted her toned midriff.

She accessorised with a Dior tote bag, nude heels, gold jewellery, and chic sunglasses.

Her light waves flowed effortlessly as she walked beside her former stepson.

Earlier this year, Affleck himself praised Lopez’s ongoing relationship with his children.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight in April, the Gone Girl actor said: “For the record, Jennifer Lopez is spectacular, great to my kids, great ongoing relationship with them. I love her kids."

"They are wonderful. She is enormously important, a tremendous person of a lot of integrity who I adore and am grateful to.”

Lopez, who is also mother to 17-year-old twins Emme and Max, has previously spoken about the challenges and joys of blending families.

In a 2022 interview with Vogue, she explained: “Transitioning into a blended family is a process that needs to be handled with so much care. What I hope to cultivate with our family is that his kids have a new ally in me and my kids have a new ally in him.”

The shopping trip with Samuel is just the latest example of Lopez living up to that promise. Even after her high-profile split from Affleck, she appears intent on nurturing the close bonds she formed with his children during their marriage.
