'King Charles unlikely to meet Prince Harry'

King Charles III is not expected to meet Prince Harry this month despite speculation about a possible reconciliation, according to royal experts.

The Duke of Sussex, 40, is scheduled to travel more than 5,000 miles from California to London in September, sparking reports that he might reunite with his father. However, insiders suggest the monarch’s busy calendar and distance from the capital make such a meeting improbable.

Royal commentator Charles Rae told The Sun: “The big problem is that Harry is flying 5,500 miles to London and the King is still 500 miles away in Scotland. It is unlikely you would expect the King would fly down again to have a cup of tea with Harry.” Rae added that any meaningful reconciliation would require broader family involvement rather than a brief father-son encounter.

Royal journalist Victoria Murphy echoed this sentiment, noting that the absence of a meeting could signal deeper tensions. “If the King and Harry do not sit down together, it would make me feel things are worse than I thought they were,” she said.

Reports earlier this year suggested the King and his youngest son might attempt to ease strained relations, especially following the monarch’s recent health challenges. Yet the logistics of arranging such a meeting appear complicated, with Charles continuing his summer stay at Balmoral Castle in Scotland and Harry tied to a tight schedule during his short U.K. visit.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and relocated to California with their son, Prince Archie. The couple later made headlines for their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey, during which they accused the Royal Family of showing racial bias toward Archie and failing to support Meghan’s mental health. They have since welcomed a daughter, Princess Lilibet, and built a new life focused on media and philanthropic ventures.

Despite the physical distance, Harry has made occasional trips to Britain in recent years, including for the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, her funeral in 2022, and King Charles’ coronation in May 2023.
