Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan announces nationwide protests from April 25

A key advisory meeting of the Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan (TTAP) was held in Islamabad on Wednesday at the residence of Mahmood Khan Achakzai, where the opposition alliance decided to launch a nationwide protest campaign, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The meeting concluded with the announcement that, instead of participating in a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest, the alliance would initiate its own protest movement.

Under the plan, protests and public meetings will be held across the country from April 25, with district-wise mobilisation involving multiple opposition parties, including PTI.

Participants also agreed to formally organise the Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan (TTAP) structure. As part of this decision, Ammar Ali Jan was assigned responsibility for Punjab, while Syed Zain Shah was tasked with overseeing activities in Sindh.

The meeting further decided that a major rally would be held on May 1, bringing together workers and supporters of the alliance.

In addition to protest plans, the forum extended an invitation to the government for national-level dialogue, urging the creation of political space to address ongoing issues.

The participants also welcomed Pakistan’s recent diplomatic developments, including the ceasefire between Iran and the United States, and appreciated ongoing talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan held in China, terming them positive steps toward regional stability.
