White House hails ceasefire as major US victory over Iran conflict

The White House on Wednesday declared the recent ceasefire with Iran as a major victory for the United States, crediting President Donald Trump and the nation’s armed forces for the achievement. 

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt, speaking on social media platform X, said that the success reflected the extraordinary capabilities of the U.S. military in achieving its strategic objectives.

Leavitt added that President Trump was aware that the military operation would extend over four to six weeks, and its success had generated maximum pressure on Iran, leading to the current truce. 

She further highlighted that the US operation successfully reopened the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global shipping route, underscoring the administration’s strategic accomplishments.

However, Iranian authorities clarified that safe passage through the Strait would only be possible in coordination with their armed forces, emphasising the need for joint oversight despite the ceasefire.

The statement indicated that while the US celebrated its achievements, both sides had agreed on specific operational protocols to ensure continued security and compliance in the region.

The announcement comes amid heightened global attention on the Middle East, where strategic military actions and diplomatic negotiations have reshaped regional stability.
