Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and United States Secretary of Foreign Affairs Mike Pompeo had a telephonic talk on Friday.

The FM raised Kashmir issue with his US counterpart, saying: “Indian atrocities in the occupied Valley have been going unabated since August 5, 2019 when it amended a law to crush Kashmiris struggle for right to self-determination.

The two leaders deliberated upon regional security, Afghan peace process, said a spokesperson for the US secretary.

He added: “Secretary Pompeo and Minister Qureshi discussed a range of issues, including the importance of US-Pakistan cooperation on the Afghan peace process and the importance of efforts to support regional stability.”

Qureshi said Islamabad gives importance to its ties with Washington as they are allies for bringing peace and stability in in the region.
