An anti-terrorism court in Lahore has reserved its verdict on the PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s court exemption pleas during the hearing on his interim bail applications in different cases including the May 9 vandalism and arson case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The lawyer of PTI chairman on Tuesday filed a plea seeking a one-day exemption for Imran Khan in different cases including the Jinnah House attack case, on which the court reserved its verdict.
In the petition filed in the court, it was stated that the PTI chairman has been arrested. Lawyer Barrister Salman Safdar said that it is hoped that the PTI chairman's sentence would be suspended in a week and he would enjoy his freedom soon.
The lawyer said that the PTI chairman has been appearing in court regularly.
The judge remarked, “Why you are so optimistic about the fixing of the appeal hearing and the suspension of the sentence?”
Lawyer Burhan Muazzam Advocate said that the PTI chairman wants to appear in court, but the circumstances and events are such that he could not appear. He requested the judge to issue his client’s protection order.
The judge inquired what’s the government’s stance on it, to which Special Prosecutor Farhad Ali Shah said ‘the law is very clear on this, you should reject their bail applications’.
