Lashing out at the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), Sindh Minister for Labour, Information and Human Resources Saeed Ghani said on Wednesday that the party was under the illusion that Karachi was its property, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

Speaking to the media outside the Sindh Assembly, he wondered as to why the party did not talk about the issues confronting the masses such as the soaring US dollar’s rate, record inflation and others. “When these people say they will resign from their seats, they do not mean it. They are just befooling others,” he commented.

Ghani regretted that the federal ministers always pointed fingers at the Sindh government for whatever went wrong in the country.

The provincial minister further said that the people of Sindh had the first right over the gas produced in their province. “Therefore, first of all gas should be provided to them,” he said, adding the reality was there was a severe gas crisis in the provincial capital. “The situation is so dismal now that the people cannot even make breakfast,” Ghani regretted.

He asked as to why the MQM-P was now silent when petrol price was being continuously increased for the last several months. “When they were our allies in Sindh, they had left us four times over the same issue,” he said, adding truth of the matter was that the party wanted to stay in the federal government as long as it could because it was having a great time there.

The minister further said that the MQM-P had voted for what he called the government’s ‘anti-masses’ bills during the joint session of the parliament.

Ghani said that when there were issues like price hike in the country, political parties held public gatherings. “But in the case of MQM-P, opposite is the case,” he deplored.

He informed that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) would hold a public gathering day after tomorrow (December 10, Friday).

He said that the people of Sindh needed love. “But the language used by the MQM-P leaders and the banners they have put on display in the city are reflective of their hatred,” he concluded.
