Repeat of Medical & Dental College Admission Test held in Sindh

The repeat of the Medical & Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) was held at seven examination centers in five divisions of Sindh on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) said that the Sindh High Court (SHC) had tasked the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Sukkur with conducting the exam. “As many as 38,684 candidates appeared in the exam,” the council said, adding, “The students started solving the paper at 11:05 in the morning and finished it after three and a half hours.” 

The PMDC said that its president visited the examination centers in Karachi and that its employees were deputed at different centers to monitor the students while taking the exam. “Officials of security agencies, FIA and IB were also tasked with keeping an eye on the students,” the council said in a statement.

Earlier, 24News TV channel reported that arrangements had been made for the exam at various centers, including two in Karachi: NED University and the University of Karachi.

IBA Sukkur, tasked with organizing the test, said that the paper would consist of 200 multiple-choice questions. 

Logistics at Karachi centers:

At NED University, female candidates will enter via the Visitors’ Gate, while male candidates will use the Main Gate. Parents have been allocated a nearby hall for waiting.

At the University of Karachi, the test will be conducted at the Maskan Ground, with access provided via Maskan Gate and Metroville Gate. Maskan Gate is restricted to pedestrian entry, while vehicles are allowed through Metroville and Sheikh Zayed Gates.

The test is being held simultaneously in Karachi, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Shaheed Benazirabad, Larkana, and Sukkur. Vice-Chancellor Dr Asif Sheikh assured students that the paper's integrity is safeguarded against leaks.
