Defying age: Retired Tharparkar teacher earns law degree at 79

A retired government school teacher from Tharparkar has made headlines after earning a law degree from the University of Karachi at the age of 79, 24NewsHD TV reported on Monday. 

Proving that age is just a number, Sukh Ram Das, a father of eight sons and one daughter, enrolled in the university’s Law Department at 74 years old and successfully graduated five years later.

Hailing from the village of Hilario Pir in Diplo tehsil, Sukh Ram Das said the main motivation behind pursuing the legal degree was to assist himself and the underprivileged people of his area in resolving issues, including land disputes and other community challenges.

Through his dedication and achievement, Sukh Ram Das has not only found solutions to pressing problems but also set a practical example for the younger generation, demonstrating that lifelong learning and service to the community are possible at any age.
