Dumper torched after three crushed to death in Karachi

A rumbling dumper was again responsible for a fatal accident in Karachi on Saturday in which three people were killed, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Three persons who were riding a motorcycle were badly wounded after a speedy dumper crushed their motorcycle near Ibrahim Hyderi area of Karachi. The three were rushed to hospital but breathed their last on the way.

Rescue sources said that angry residents of the area staged a protest and later torched the dumper.

Further investigation was underway.

It may be mentioned here that on Thursday, a dumper hit a motorcycle at Malir Halt, killing a father and son, while the mother was injured.

According to the police, the man, wife, and their son were critically injured and were being transferred to Jinnah Hospital. Unfortunately, the father and son succumbed to their injuries before reaching the hospital, while the mother was admitted in critical condition.

On Wednesday, in the limits of Shahrah-e-Faisal police station, a speeding dumper ran over motorcyclists near Millennium Mall on Rashid Minhas Road, killing three people, including a couple.

The scene of the accident was so heartbreaking that bystanders were left in shock.

Meanwhile, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has warned that if 'killer dumpers' are not controlled in Karachi, he will be forced to take extreme measures.

Expressing his strong anger and frustration over the increasing number of dumper accidents in Karachi, Kamran Tessori said that on a single day, four citizens were killed in the city.

He raised the question, why are such incidents happening only in Karachi? Why do dumper drivers run away after crushing people, leaving behind a trail of death and destruction?

Tessori further criticized the negligence of the authorities and asked how long they would allow innocent citizens to lose their lives. He demanded that strict action be taken against the company responsible for any dumper-related accident.

The governor also called on the Sindh government to devise a plan of action against the dumper mafia within a week. He made it clear that if the government does not act, he would take matters into his own hands.
