Pakistan, New Zealand to clash in 1st ODI in Karachi today

Pakistan will face New Zealand on Monday (today) afternoon in first encounter of the three-match One Day International (ODI) series which will be played at National Stadium in Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Pakistan, earlier, drew the two-match Test series against New Zealand. And before that, they lost the three-match Test series versus England 3-0. The hosts will be keen to break their poor run of form at home.
On the other hand, New Zealand will be looking to do their best in the sub-continental region. The Kiwis will take the field under the leadership of Kane Williamson, their skipper.
It is going to be a batting pitch at National Stadium in Karachi to say but is better suited for pacers.
Based on the last five ODIs played at the venue, the average first innings score has been around 277, and the average total score varied around 247. Sixty percent of the toss-winning captains opted to bat first. And, 60% of the teams won the game while batting first.
Since 2009, the National Stadium in Karachi has hosted six ODIs involving Pakistan. However, two of them had been abandoned then.
New Zealand though, since 2009, have never played an ODI game at National Stadium Karachi.
