Inclusion of Hyderabad, Sialkot franchises a historic moment for PSL: PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi Thursday congratulated Fawad Sarwar and Hamza Majeed on the successful acquisition of new Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises, calling the inclusion of Hyderabad and Sialkot a historic milestone for the league.
In his message, Naqvi also congratulated the people of Hyderabad and Sialkot, saying the expansion of the PSL reflected the growing strength and national appeal of the tournament.
“The inclusion of Hyderabad and Sialkot is a historic moment for the Pakistan Super League,” the PCB chairman said, adding that the addition of new teams marked a collective success for all Pakistanis.
Naqvi said the PSL was not just a cricket tournament but a league deeply connected with the emotions of the nation. “This league is very dear to us. Our emotions are associated with the PSL,” he said.
He described the successful bids for the two new franchises as a victory for everyone who loved cricket, stating that the confidence shown by franchise owners demonstrated strong belief in the PSL and in Pakistan.
“The bids of both teams are not only a success of the PSL but also of Pakistan,” Naqvi said, adding that the PCB would continue to work towards further strengthening cricket across the country.
The PCB chairman said the love and affection shown by the new franchise owners for Pakistan and cricket reflected their commitment to the country.
He expressed hope that the new franchise owners would play an important role in the development and promotion of Pakistan cricket in the coming years.
