A senior police officer was martyred in a deadly clash with notorious dacoits in KP’s Swabi district on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Allama Iqbal was killed in the exchange of firing with the dacoits. The TV channel reported that two other policemen were also seriously injured in the exchange of firing.

Naseer Ahmed, the ringleader of the wanted dacoits, was also killed in the retaliatory firing of the policemen.

Injured policemen Faisal Khan and Tayyab Khan were shifted to a hospital.

Swabi DPO and other officers have rushed to the site of the encounter and cordoned off the area. The police search for other suspects is underway.
