NA budget session to be convened on short notice

The National Assembly is set to convene its budget session on short notice, according to government sources.

Government members of the National Assembly have been instructed to reach Islamabad by Thursday night as preparations for the session are finalized.

Sources said consultations have been completed on convening the budget session on June 12 instead of June 10. The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has sent a summary proposing Friday, June 12, to the prime minister.

According to sources, the budget discussion will also be kept short. The government has decided to complete all stages of budget approval within a week.

Officials stated that the government aims to ensure the budget is approved before Muharram.
