Heavy rains, dust storms, hail and thunderstorms predicted from May 8 to 12

Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a warning of windstorms, dust storms, thunderstorms and possible hailstorms from May 8 to May 12, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.

Rain and thunderstorms, some accompanied by heavy falls and hail, are expected in Kashmir, northern and eastern Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast and southern Balochistan, and southeast Sindh on Thursday and Friday.

Over the past 24 hours, hot and dry conditions dominated most areas, though isolated thunderstorms occurred in upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, northeastern Punjab, and northern Balochistan. The Met office warns public that due to strong winds and lightning they may face potential damage to infrastructure, electric poles, trees, vehicles and solar panels.

The unstable weather is due to moist currents entering the upper and central parts of the country, coupled with the influence of a westerly wave affecting most regions.
