PM pitches for realization of Pakistan-Saudi joint business ventures

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed the commitment to work for the realization of Pakistan-Saudi joint business ventures, including promotion of trade and commerce as well as cooperation in research and development.

He was speaking at a banquet hosted in honour of a high-level Saudi business delegation led by Chairman Saudi-Pakistan Joint Business Council Prince Mansour bin Mohammad Al Saud in Islamabad today. 

The Prime Minister urged the business communities of the two countries to take advantage of the opportunities of starting joint ventures. 

Talking about the landmark Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, Shehbaz Sharif said it is basically a formalization of brotherly arrangements which were there in an informal fashion for decades.  He said Pakistan takes a lot of pride in guarding Makkah and Madinah along with Saudi brothers and sisters. He said every Muslim would like to lay his life to protect these holiest of holy places.      

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Saudi-Pakistan Joint Business Council Prince Mansour bin Mohammad Al Saud acknowledged the business friendly environment in Pakistan. He said both countries have great potential for bilateral cooperation in diverse fields, especially in agriculture, breeding dairies and meat processing, food security, pharmaceutical and construction sectors.
