Seven members of Khairpur family, including two children, die in highway collision
Seven members of a family from Khairpur who were bringing the body of their relative from Karachi, killed in a tragic road accident near Moro, 24NewHD TV on Sunday.
According to initial reports, the family had collected the body of Ghulam Muhammad Janwari, a family elder who had died in a hospital in Karachi, and was on its way back to their hometown when tragedy struck near Moro. The accident occurred on the National Highway, where a stalled trailer was parked on the roadside.
Due to the obstruction, a Mehran car carrying the family slowed down.
At that moment, a dumper truck approaching from behind rammed into the vehicle with full force, crushing it completely.
The collision was so severe that all seven passengers inside the car—two men, three women, and two children—died on the spot.
The victims were identified as residents of Lukman Janwari, Khairpur district.
Among the deceased were Ghulam Muhammad, son of Bakhshan Janwari, and Ali Ahmed Janwari, while the identities of three women and two children are being confirmed.
Rescue teams dispatched ambulances from Naushahro Feroze to transfer the bodies to a nearby hospital.
Police have taken the dumper's owner into custody and launched an investigation into the fatal crash.
