8th class annual results: Danish Schools' students bag top three positions

The results of the 8th class examinations have been announced across Punjab. Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat inaugurates the portal to view the results.

First three positions secured by students of Danish Schools. Iqra Khan, a student of Danish School Mianwali Girls, secured first position with 364 marks. Rumisa Iman of Danish School Girls Attock secured second position with 358.5 marks. Fatima Bibi of Danish School Girls Hasilpur secured third position with 358 marks. 

The overall pass rate for the 8th grade was 88 percent. After a long time, the 8th grade board exams were conducted in Punjab. 894,000 students from Punjab took the 8th standard exam. 782,000 students passed across Punjab. 110,000 students failed across Punjab. 

Education Minister said machine marking was done for the first time in Pakistan through technology. Transparency has been ensured through machine marking in paper checking. 

He said machine marking will also be done in matriculation and inter papers. The 8th exams were conducted under the Punjab Examination Commission. The 8th exams have been started on a board-style basis to better assess the performance of students, said Education Minister. 

He said for the first time in the history of Pakistan, machine marking will be done with the help of AI. Education Minister said QR codes were also placed on the papers to ensure transparency. 

He said QR codes help in the complete tracing of examination papers. Education Minister also announces honorarium for assessment team.
