Gates praises Pak Army’s role in supporting national drive

Noted philanthropist Bill Gates and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa had a telephonic talk on Monday.
According to ISPR, Bill Gates appreciated the role of the Pakistan Army in supporting the national polio campaign.
The COAS appreciated Bill Gates for the latter’s valuable services for better healthcare and promised all-out support for a polio-free Pakistan, the military media said.
The duo renewed resolve to continue efforts to provide the people with better healthcare. Earlier in the year, the COAS directed the authorities concerned to provide additional manpower and resources to polio teams.
In April, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif talked to Bill Gates and reiterated the government’s commitment to eradicate polio from the country. PM Shehbaz heaped praise on Bill Gates and his foundation’s cooperation for the noble cause.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to cement the fruitful partnership with Gates’s foundation to improve public healthcare service delivery.
Bill Gates acknowledged the positive progress and reiterated the foundation’s continued support to Pakistan for ensuring that no child was at risk of paralysis due to poliovirus.
