Six more PML-N MPAs submit resignations to party leadership

Six more more Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPAs including Azma Bukhari, Samiullah Khan and Raheela Khadim Hussain also submitted their resignations from the Punjab assembly seats to the party leadership taking the tally to 13 resignations from N-League, reported24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The other three PML-N MPAs were Akhtar Hussain Mayo, Anila Fatima and Bilal Farooq Tarar.
Raheela Khadim Hussain is an MPA from W-356, a reserved constituency for women in the Punjab Assembly, Azma Zahid Bukhari W-318, another reserved constituency for women in PA while Samiullah Khan is MPA from PP-144 (Lahore-I).
The PML-N MPAs and MNAs who have submitted their resignations to the party leadership even before the formal announcement or policy decision are: MPA Saif-ul-Malook Khokhar (PP-160) and his younger brother MNA Afzal Khokhar (NA-136), MNA from NA-90 Sargodha Chaudhry Hamid Hameed, MNA Ch Bashir Mehmood Virk from NA-80 Gujranwala –III, MNA Azhar Qayyum Nahra from Gujranwala NA-84 and Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bherth from PP-72 (Sargodha-I), Chaudhry Iftikhar Hussain Chhachhar from PP-188 (Okara-IV).
As the resignations by the lawmakers of the parties belonging to the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) gather momentum, JUI-F has also taken a major step as all its members of the Senate and the National Assembly have handed over their resignations to party chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
The JUI-F has 14 legislators in the National Assembly and four in the Senate. The party has also directed its members in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan assemblies to be ready to submit their resignations.
Pakistan Democratic Movement chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Tuesday ruled out any dialogue with the government. He said that all the opposition parliamentarians would submit their resignations to their parliamentary leaders until December 31.
Maulana Fazl was talking to the media after a PDM meeting held in Islamabad. PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, ANP leader Mian Iftikhar Hussain and other PDM leadership were also present on the occasion.
A Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) lawmaker on Tuesday submitted his resignation to party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari after Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) formally asked opposition legislators to hand in resignations to party heads.
Ali Haider Gilani, who was MPA from PP-211 constituency, wrote in his resignation letter: “Today, to further the democratic struggle in Pakistan, I hereby tender my resignation to you, to be used at your will”. The son of former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani said that he was submitting his resignation as a token of his unconditional loyalty to the party.
