309 AQI again makes Lahore world’s most polluted city

There is no respite, particularly for the people of Lahore as far as smog is concerned as the city again stood at the top of the world’s most polluted cities on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Overall, the air quality index (AQI) in the city of gardens was recorded at 309; it was 356 at Kot Lakhpat; 337 at Model Town; 327 at Allama Iqbal Town; 286 at Gulberg’s Maratab Ali Road; 266 at Bahria Orchard; 265 at Anarkali Bazaar; 263 at The Mall, and 259 at Township.
The met office forecast cold and dry weather in the Punjab capital.
Minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 7 degrees Celsius while the maximum stood at 23 degrees Celsius.
The weather department forecast that winds at the speed of 2 kilometers per hour would blow in the city while the humidity level was recorded at 60 per cent.
Lahore was followed by Indian capital New Delhi, Chinese city of Wuhan, while another Indian city Kolkata came fourth in terms of poorest air quality.
Karachi, the country’s commercial hub, was ranked as the ninth most polluted city for the second consecutive day on Thursday.
Fog engulfed other parts of Punjab prompting the closure of different sections of the motorway.
Motorways were opened for traffic as soon as the visibility improved.
