Information and Broadcasting Minister Fawad Chaudhry said Thursday that the people of Pakistan have a government after a long time that is not accused of any kind of corruption charges, reported 24NewsHD TV on Thursday.

Addressing a press conference along with the Minister of National Food Security and Research, Syed Fakhar Imam, Fawad Chaudhry said Transparency International's post-Covid-19 survey is encouraging because, for the first time, there is no evidence of corruption committed by the political government.

Fawad Chaudhry said: "Confidence in the political government is being restored today as 89 percent of the people have expressed confidence in the government's performance and initiatives after the coronavirus outbreak, which is a great achievement”.

He said there were very few examples in the world of a country's economy developing at 5% per year after the pandemic. "Our economic growth figures are also being recognized by the IMF, and there is a possibility that Pakistan will exceed the growth rate of 5 percent".

Fawad said the agricultural sector due to government policies earned about an additional Rs400 billion rupees last year.

The farmers earned Rs118 billion in wheat, Rs138 billion in cotton, Rs46 billion on rice and Rs3 billion rupees on corn and Rs96 billion rupees on sugar cane, added Fawad.

Fawad said that Sindh is being ruled by a government that had nothing to do with the well-being of the people

Fawad said that the policies of the Sindh government who is severely harming the citizens of the province.

The prices of flour and sugar are at the top in Sindh compared to the rest of the country and that the people of Sindh are in need of the health card and the ration program, added Fawad.

He said that the people of Sindh are deprived of this basic necessity due to the anti-popular policies of the PPP government, and Sindh's public representatives, including the MNAs and the AMPs, should ask their Chief Minister for what reason he was taking revenge on the people of the province.

“Flour sells for Rs 1,100 per 20kg bag throughout the country, except in Sindh, as the people of Karachi and Sindh were forced to buy it at Rs 1,460 per bag. The price of sugar in the whole country is Rs90 per kg, but in Sindh, it sells between Rs 97 and Rs 100, "he added.

Even the opponents of the Prime Minister Imran Khan has believed in his righteousness, uttered Fawad.

The minister said that PM Imran Khan's vision is to provide direct assistance to the poor, rather than subsidize the basic products everyone uses.

Fawad said Prime Minister Imran Khan yesterday announced the largest social protection program in Pakistan's history to control the impact of inflation on poor segments of society.

He said that under the social protection program people earning less than Rs50,000 would get a 30 percent discount on the purchase of flour, pulses and butter.

Talking on the opposition, Fawad said it was fragmented and did not have an agenda to serve the masses.

He has said that the opposition was like a house of cards and that if it did not disintegrate by March 23, only then could it have a long march.

Fawad said that demand for tractors, vehicles, agricultural equipment and urea-based fertilizers increased due to surplus income in the agricultural sector.

The minister said that a truck loaded with urea fertilizer was sent abroad, which would earn 8 million rupees.

Information Minister added the price of urea fertilizer in Pakistan was Rs1,700, while its price on the international market had crossed the Rs10,000.

He said that the National Computerized Identity Card will be used in conjunction with the health card for treatment at any government hospital at no cost.

All citizens of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab would receive a treatment facility of up to Rs1 million with the Health Insaf Card, said Chaudhry Fawad.

This facility will soon also be provided to the inhabitants of Balochistan, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, he added.

There was no precedent in the world for such a program, people in the UK had to pay a premium for the treatment facility at the National Health Services, he said.

On the other side, Fawad Chaudhry has also praised the Kamyab Jawan sports drive program, saying that the youth sports program is a good step. Extremism can be eradicated by promoting sports.
