Educational institutions across Punjab set to reopen on Jan 12
Punjab Minister for Education Rana Sikandar Hayat Khan on Friday announced that all educational institutions in the province will be reopened from January 12 (Monday), 2026, as per schedule, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In a message on the social media website “X” on Friday, Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat strongly rejected rumours regarding the extension of winter vacations. He said that a fake notification regarding the extension of winter vacations is being circulated on social media.
He clarified that schools and colleges would reopen according to the existing schedule and urged the public to avoid believing unverified information.
He stated that school and college holidays would not be extended and asked citizens to refrain from spreading fake news.
At present, there has been no change to the announced winter vacation schedule. Parents, students, and school administrations have been advised to rely solely on official government channels for accurate and timely information.
Meanwhile, Punjab continues to battle severe winter conditions. According to the latest meteorological forecast, very cold and dry weather will persist across the province.
Extremely low temperatures are expected in Murree, Galiyat, and surrounding hilly areas, where cloudy skies and light rain or snowfall may occur during the evening and night hours.
