No ice cream, no smiles? Kareena Kapoor’s mom hack for vacation photos goes viral

Kareena Kapoor has let fans in on a cheeky behind-the-scenes detail of her family vacations, revealing the playful bargaining she uses to get her sons, Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan, to cooperate for photographs.

Known for regularly sharing candid glimpses from her holidays, the actor this time admitted that those picture-perfect moments sometimes come with conditions.

On Thursday, Kareena took to Instagram to reshare a viral post about parenting that humorously summed up the struggle of holiday photos with children.

The post read, "Parents forcing their kids to take holiday pictures like: ‘Sit your butt down, smile, don’t pick your nose — and if you don’t behave, no ice cream’… and then posting captions like, ‘This is the reason I breathe.’"

Reacting to the relatable content, Kareena added her own caption, "Me, me, me!!!", along with laughing emojis and a red heart, openly admitting that she too resorts to such tactics while travelling with her kids.

The confession comes shortly after Kareena shared multiple pictures from a recent family getaway.

One of the images showed young Jeh pulling his hoodie over his face while sitting on a train, clearly uninterested in being photographed as Kareena clicked away.

Another post featured her husband Saif Ali Khan, whom she jokingly struggled to capture on camera. Sharing that photo, she wrote, "Finally got him to pose and this is what I could manage."

Beyond lighthearted parenting moments, Kareena also used social media on New Year’s Eve to reflect on a more emotional chapter for her family. Posting a picture with Saif, she opened up about the challenges they faced over the past year.

She wrote, "We cried a lot, we prayed, and now we are here… 2025 taught us that human nature is fearless, love will conquer all, and that children are braver than we think…" She went on to thank friends and fans who supported them through difficult times and spoke about stepping into the new year with strength and optimism. She concluded her message with, "Like I always say, CHAR DI KALA ❤️ Happy New Year, everyone…"

While Kareena continues to share moments from her personal life, she remains busy on the professional front as well.

The actor will next appear in Daayra, directed by Meghna Gulzar and co-starring Prithviraj Sukumaran.

The film delves into complex and unsettling social realities while examining enduring questions around crime, punishment, and justice. Currently in post-production, Daayra is expected to hit screens later this year.

Between negotiating smiles with ice cream deals and preparing for a hard-hitting cinematic release, Kareena Kapoor once again balances motherhood and stardom with her trademark honesty and humor.
