Asad Umar warns of reimposing coronavirus restrictions
Says poor SOPs compliance, spread of variants main cause of worry

Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar has indicated at the reimposition of Covid-19 social curbs fearing that the fourth wave might hit the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Federal Minister Umar posted a tweet on Friday saying that he had tweeted two weeks back that our artificial intelligence models were showing possible emergence of the fourth wave.

“Now there are clear early signs of the fourth wave starting. Poor SOPs compliance, coupled with the spread of variants of concern, Indian variant in particular, are the main cause,” he said.

Mr Umar said field reports were showing a complete disregard of the condition of vaccination for those attending indoor weddings and going to indoor restaurants and gyms.

“If the owners of these facilities do not show responsibility and ensure compliance, there will be no choice but to shut them down,” the minister warned.
