Notorious dacoit Sanaullah killed in Mian Channu encounter
DSP Rao Tariq Pervez told the media that policemen deputed at a checkpoint near a sugar mill situated in 83 (15 LJK) signalled three suspicious-looking men mounted on a motorbike to stop.
“But the men resorted to firing at the cops instead which resulted in an exchange of fire between the police and the suspects that lasted for 15 minutes,” he said, and added, “Meanwhile, Sanaullah was seriously injured after a bullet fired by one of his own accomplices pierced into his body while his other two accomplices managed to escape from the spot. Police shifted Sanaullah to a hospital but he died on the way.”
DSP further told that the slain dacoit was wanted by police in connection with over two dozen cases, including of theft, dacoities and firing. “Cases were registered against him at police stations of Multan, Khanewal, Vehari, Lodhran and other districts. Only few days ago, he had shot dead a villager, Muhammad Aslam, while trying to run away with cattle,” he concluded.
