PPP's newly-elected member of GB Assembly disqualified for concealing assets 

The Supreme Appellate Court of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) on Thursday disqualified Fida Nashad, who was returned to Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly from GBA-9 Skardu-III on PPP's ticket in the recently held general elections, for concealing his assets, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Judge Sardar Muhammad Shameem Khan pronounced the verdict. Fida Nashad's rival candidate Zakir Hussain had filed a civil appeal number 17 of 2026.

The court in its detailed verdict declared the Chief Court’s verdict dated May 25, 2026 null and void.

The judge said that after a detailed examination of the available record and revenue documents, the bench found out that Nashad in the Form B of his nomination papers submitted to the returning officer on April 20, 2026 had stated that he was the owner of Mashabaram Hotel and House Land.

But, the judge went on to say, Nashad did not disclose that he was also the owner of some precious properties in Jotyal Gilgit, village Olding Skardu, village Thawar, and Dambudas Rondu.

The judge made it clear that the issue of concealment of assets could be raised at any moment.
