Cabinet prefers grade-21 officer over grade-22 for KP police top slot

The Federal Cabinet has finalized the appointment of a grade-21 officer for the top police slot of KP ignoring a grade-22 contender, reported 24News HD TV channel.
The KP government has recommended three names including a grade-22 and two grade-21 officers for the post of KP Inspector General. The names included grade-22 office DG IB Dr Muhammad Suleman, grade-21 officers Commandant FC Muazzam Jah Ansari and Punjab IG Inam Ghani. The federal cabinet approved the appointment of Commandant FC Muazzam Jah Ansari for the post of KP IG.
The cabinet also approved the appointment of Sana Ullah Abbasi on the post of DG FIA replacing Wajid Zia. Zia made DG National Police Bureau. Grade-21 officer Salahuddin Khan appointed as Commandant FC.
Sana Ullah Abbasi has been serving as KP IG since January 1, 2020 while Wajid Zia has been holding the post of DG FIA since November 29, 2019.
